What is Individual Spiritual Direction?
Individual spiritual direction is a practice in which a spiritual director provides guidance and support to an individual on their spiritual journey.
This process is collaborative, and involves deep listening, empathetic understanding, and encouragement as the director helps the directee explore their relationship with the Divine. Above all, a spiritual director’s work is to help one grow in relationship with Jesus.
God is at the center of spiritual direction and the practice is focused on Him. Through prayer, reflection, meditation, and awareness–the goal is to deepen spiritual connection with God and broaden our understanding of God’s presence in both the world and ourselves.
“Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.”
–Proverbs 11:14
